Drama-arama all around

How much drama do you pull into your life and how much do you wish you could avoid?

Drama can be a little bit addictive.  I have to be honest here.  It really can.  However, I am going to ask you to dig deep here and continue with the honesty-vibe I’ve just set.  How many times have you got involved in a drama, either your own or someone else’s, because it is a welcome distraction from something important that needs to be addressed in your own life?

Drama can be a procrastinator’s right-hand man.  Drama can pull your focus into something ELSE and easily keep your eye off the real issues that really should be addressed.  And that is easily forgiven, because if you are finding every which way to avoid a certain something in your life, it must be overwhelming, challenging, frightening or just a plain tough one.

When times like these come around, I encourage you to stop in your tracks.  Recognise what you are doing.  And then make your choice; either continue on or push your focus back into where it ought to be – moving you forward in your life.

Tips for moving out of the procrastination stage:

  • Ask for help – find someone who is a master at what you need to do and ask them to help you with it
  • Break it down – don’t try to do it all at once.  Just moving one task into manageable mini-tasks takes the pressure off straight away.
  • Do it and get “paid” – Set a time, a day, a place and get it done.  Then once it’s over, reward yourself with something you love doing

Once you’ve addressed what you need to do and you continue on making plans and moving your life forward, you’ll have zero time for any drama in your life… because you’ll be too busy living life instead.
