Being Humble

It’s coming into the goal setting time of year.  You may already have your idea.  You may already know that you want to make some changes, set some new goals, motivate yourself to move forward.

Personally, I love to set goals.  I like the anticipation that everything is possible, the excitement of new adventures and creativity of working out methods of overcoming perceived obstacles.

I used to be a complete perfectionist (now I realise it already is all so perfect) and goal setting always felt quite a mountain to climb.  Nowadays I set a goal and use various tools inlcuding Morter Marching and mindset changes to move forward.  It doesn’t have to be a preconceived perfection because there is a beauty in humility.

Having humility and practising the art of humility has become a big blessing in my life.  Setting a goal that is so big and life-changing, I soon recognised, actually was not about the goal itself, more about my ego and what other people would rate me as.  Nowadays I work with the understanding that small significant advances build momentum, motivation and the all-important lessons.  Being humble has allowed my ego to shrink and my understanding to grow.

When setting a life goal, check in with yourself.  Check your goal equals your passion not your ego.  Impress yourself first.
