Veggie and Fruit Daily Mantra

An abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables is conducive to good health! Choose different colours and eat some raw and some cooked.

Start early in the day as the recommended amount of 5-6 portions of veggies and 2 portions of fruit will be challenging to eat all in one sitting. Start with some fruit in the morning, eat veggies as snacks or have a soup or salad on the side with lunch. Then fill up your plate at your evening meal.

Once your start eating all your veggie portions each day, you increase your fibre, you increase your nutrients naturally and you bring in phytochemicals, the little non-nutrient health boosting key players! One portion = 1 cup of uncooked veggies and half a cup of cooked veggies. Mix up your intake and enjoy the taste and health benefits of getting your FIVE a day.

Your health will thank you for it.
